Support flood victims in Thailand
Once again floods and mudslides have been sweeping across Thailand, affecting an estimated 8.2 million people in 60 of the country’s 77 provinces.
Sadly floods are expected to worsen; with rains continuing and high tides approaching many are being evacuated from their homes, including from the capital, Bangkok.
In Pathum Thani province, north of Bangkok, Thammasat University is being used as a temporary shelter to house evacuees; they are expected to reach their maximum capacity of 2000 people in the next day or so. Many people arriving at the university have lost or have been forced to abandon all their belongings.
To support the people of Thailand the GVI Charitable Trust are raising funds to send basic supplies such as bedding, clothing and sanitary products. By providing essential items now we can provide some comfort to people in their time of need and help to maintain some sense of normality as they look to rebuilding their lives.
Donate now and support Thai people during this difficult time.
